Phillips ADR Welcomes New Independent Panelists: Hon. Tim Garcia, Elliot Brown and Edwin V. Woodsome

With excitement and anticipation, I am pleased to announce the three newest members of the Phillips ADR Enterprises (“PADRE”) team: The Hon. Tim Garcia, Elliot Brown and Edwin V. Woodsome. Each of these outstanding gentlemen brings a wealth of experience to our panel of neutrals.

Timothy L. Garcia is a retired New Mexico Court of Appeals Judge with over thirty-four years of legal experience as a private attorney, trial court judge, and appellate court judge.

Judge Garcia had eighteen years of litigation experience before being appointed to the bench in 2002. Judge Garcia has presided over hundreds of civil and criminal trials, including high-profile cases involving wrongful death, personal injury, product liability, major catastrophes, and class action lawsuits. Phillips ADR Welcomes David M. Murphy

The newest member of the Phillips ADR Enterprises (“PADRE”) team, David M. Murphy, joined PADRE’s group of independent panelists in 2017 and is available both as a mediator and arbitrator.

David, a retired partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen and Katz, is one of the most seasoned litigators in America. He brings three decades of experience representing plaintiffs and defendants before courts and arbitration panels all over the country. He is also an accomplished mediator and arbitrator.

After graduating with honors from Yale University, David attended the University of Chicago Law School, where he won the annual Hinton Moot Court Competition, the Mulroy Prize for oral advocacy, and the Beale Prize for legal research and writing. Continue Reading

Phillips ADR Welcomes the Honorable Robert C. Bonner

It is with great excitement that I write to introduce the newest member of the Phillips ADR Enterprises (“PADRE”) team, the Honorable Robert C. Bonner. Judge Bonner will join PADRE’s team of independent panelists and will be available both as a mediator and arbitrator.

Judge Bonner is a former U.S. District Judge and former U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California.  Rob has held a number of leadership roles within federal agencies as Commissioner of the U.S. Customs Service, the first Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Furthermore, Judge Bonner is a former partner of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP where he co-chaired the firm’s white collar practice group and was involved in numerous matters related to commercial and contract disputes, as well as antitrust, securities, construction, intellectual property, and environmental litigation matters. Phillips ADR Welcomes the Honorable Gary A. Feess

Hon. Gary A. FeessIt is with great excitement that I write to introduce the newest member of the Phillips ADR team, the Honorable Gary A. Feess (Retired). On January 5, 2015, Judge Feess retired after more than 15 years of service as a United States District Judge in the Central District of California. Judge Feess will join Phillips ADR’s team of independent panelists and will assist me in the continued growth of our ADR practice.

I first had the pleasure of meeting and working with Judge Feess during my tenure as an Assistant United States Attorney in Los Angeles, CA where he worked from 1979 to 1989 holding various positions of leadership, ultimately ascending to become acting United States Attorney for the Central District of California.
