Phillips ADR Welcomes New Independent Panelists: Hon. Tim Garcia, Elliot Brown and Edwin V. Woodsome

With excitement and anticipation, I am pleased to announce the three newest members of the Phillips ADR Enterprises (“PADRE”) team: The Hon. Tim Garcia, Elliot Brown and Edwin V. Woodsome. Each of these outstanding gentlemen brings a wealth of experience to our panel of neutrals.

Timothy L. Garcia is a retired New Mexico Court of Appeals Judge with over thirty-four years of legal experience as a private attorney, trial court judge, and appellate court judge.

Judge Garcia had eighteen years of litigation experience before being appointed to the bench in 2002. Judge Garcia has presided over hundreds of civil and criminal trials, including high-profile cases involving wrongful death, personal injury, product liability, major catastrophes, and class action lawsuits.

Known for his preparation, detail-oriented analysis and interactive approach to resolving tough cases, Judge Garcia now focuses his legal practice in the area of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration, in-depth case evaluation, and mock trial services.

Elliot Brown spent nearly three decades immersed in a broad gamut of IP litigation, counseling, and licensing as part of one of the premier IP practices in the nation before transitioning to a full time mediation and arbitration practice with Phillips ADR.

Elliot has represented plaintiffs, defendants and third-party intervenors in disputed matters involving patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets and more. His clients have ranged from Fortune 50 technology companies, movies studios, major record labels, and the world’s top video game companies to privately held startups and law firms.

Since graduate school, Elliot has had an enduring interest in the empirical study of decision-making and bargaining, a field that he has found to be an invaluable source of tools for resolving complex disputes.

Edwin Woodsome was most recently the managing partner of Dechert LLP’s Los Angeles office. Prior to that he was a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, where he was head of Global Litigation.

Edwin has more than 35 years of state and federal trial experience in a variety of subject matter areas including consumer fraud, internal investigations and corporate compliance, international dispute resolution and more. He comes to us with extensive mediation and arbitration experience both as a practitioner and as a neutral.

I encourage you read more about each of our new team members on our Team page. They each work with me directly on various mediations and are also available for individual bookings.

Please contact Meghan Lettington at (949) 760-5280 to schedule any of our individual panelists for an upcoming ADR matter.
